CARDIFF UK. Emiliano Sala’s sister has posted a touching photo of his beloved dog Nala on Facebook waiting for him to come home. Romina uploaded the picture of the rescue dog staring into the distance, with the caption “Nala is waiting for you, too,” on Saturday.
The Cardiff City footballer had put the dog into kennels in Nantes ahead of his move to Wales when his plane disappeared over the English Channel.
He is thought to have had a close relationship with Nala, and posted several pictures of his pet on Instagram.
Sala’s family today called for officials to recover the wreckage of the plane, which went missing two weeks ago.
Teams led by marine scientist David Mearns discovered the plane, which carried pilot David Ibbotson and striker Sala, on Sunday.
The remains of one person were still onboard the Piper Malibu aircraft.
The 28-year-old Sala was preparing to start a new career in the English Premier League at Cardiff after the striker was sold by French topflight club Nantes.
The Air Accidents Investigation Branch confirmed on Monday that they will release a report into the incident within the next month.
They added: “The AAIB is now considering the next steps, in consultation with the families of the pilot and passenger, and the police.”
